Heritage

A secret kept for centuries.

From a 17th-century Scottish garden of thistles to an invitation-only Harley Street clinic — the long lineage behind every Gimmor formula.

The Duchess of Stuart's secret

A noblewoman among thistles — in the tradition of the Duchess of Stuart

The Duchess of Stuart, a member of the Scottish royal family, greatly admired natural beauty. She particularly loved thistles and grew a sea of them beyond her castle estate. Each day the maids who gathered the flowers would pick them fresh, carefully handling the stems, leaves and seed-heads, and dry them into medicinal plants — the same thistle used to brew Scotland's traditional bitter wine.

The Duchess noticed that the hands of the maids who picked the thistles were far smoother than those of their peers, and came to believe that the white juice flowing from the broken stems held a beauty effect. Delighted, she praised it as "St. Mary's grass," gathered a circle of herbalists and physicians, and set them to study it. In time it became known as "The Secret of the Duchess of Stuart."

The Campbells' exploration

A woman at her dressing table applying skincare

While working as a dermatologist at the Royal Hospital of Edinburgh, Dr. William Campbell recognised women's urgent need for considered beauty care, and resolved to develop skincare of his own. His wife Mary, a nurse at the spa, was his devoted supporter — and volunteered to be the very first trial user. Together, the Campbells began their exploration of beauty care.

After years of research and practice, they independently developed the revolutionary "Regeneration Super Active Cell Fluid," reinterpreting the classic, cross-century thistle anti-aging essence. Worn as a dressing, it penetrates deep into the skin, awakens cell vitality and leaves the complexion more elastic and radiant — an extraordinary skincare effect.

GIMMOR SKIN

The GIMMOR SKIN clinic on Harley Street, London

In 1958, Dr. William Campbell founded the GIMMOR SKIN spa, offering Europe's noble ladies medical-grade, precision anti-aging care through its own "Regeneration Super Active Cell Fluid" dressing. Set on London's Harley Street, the clinic was strictly invitation-only — with high membership fees and an exacting admission threshold.

It sparked a quietly mysterious anti-aging devotion in its day, and became the private choice of noble ladies such as Princess Margaret and the British singer Shirley Bassey.

Soul ingredients

The secret key of time.

A cross-century classic, retranslated. Continuing the anti-aging legend of thistle — through breakthroughs in orchid and apple plants — into one super-energising culture fluid: Regeneration Super Active Cell Fluid.

01 · Milk thistle

Milk Thistle Essence

A "zombie-cell" scavenger that selectively clears senescent cells, helping to prevent irreversible induced damage and to control infectious aging.

02 · Orchid

Orchid Stem Cells

Derived from endangered orchids, they renew vitality by improving the signals between neighbouring cells — beauty sustained through cellular communication.

03 · Apple

Apple Stem Cells

Drawn from the rare Swiss apple UTTWILER SPÄTLAUBER, stem-cell culture technology sustains cellular life and regeneration to help delay the signs of aging.

The founder

A great family heritage.

Dr. William Campbell was born in 1916 into a Scottish medical family with a long history of serving the royal household. As a dermatologist at the Royal Hospital of Edinburgh, he came to deeply understand women's urgent need for beauty care — and conceived the idea of developing skincare of his own.

Our philosophy

Enough, beautifully done.

We believe a beauty routine can be expressive without becoming excessive. Each Gimmor essential earns its place through sensorial texture, easy layering and an honest purpose.

Less noise. More ritual. Products you reach for until the last drop.
